It’s that time of year for your alpacas to pay you back for all your time and money you have invested in their care and well being. The Alpaca Blanket Project is one of the most anticipated events each year in that was started as a grass roots effort to get alpaca fiber recognized as a high quality commodity. Participants in the project are well deserving of the recognition as a supplier of one of the few natural fiber products which are grown, produced and sold in the US. The Alpaca Blanket Project (ABP) is one of the few alpaca fiber brokers working with Pendleton Woolen Mills known world-wide for producing high-quality, American made textiles.
ABP is seeking fiber in ALL colors, from white to black and everything in between that is 20 to 30 micron AND two to five inches long. Fiber received by September 1, 2014, is expected to be paid out by the end of the year.
If you are not currently an ABP member and would like to participate, more information is available on the ABP website, http://alpacabp.com or by contacting Paul or Erin in Cottage Grove, WI, at 608.669.6651 or info@alpacablanketproject.com
Contact Stargazer Ranch in Loveland, CO to arrange a suitable time to drop off your alpaca fiber. Please let us know your ABP membership number and approximately how much fiber you are planning to bring. Please do not package your fiber in boxes.
