Stargazer Ranch raises breeding quality alpacas in Loveland, CO. We’re a nationally recognized producer of alpaca breeding stock. It’s a fact that producing elite quality offspring isn’t a dream, it’s a decision. We have enjoyed being involved in the alpaca industry for over 25 years. As we look to the future, we are gradually moving towards retirement. We have loved our work in helping the industry reach goals to establish alpaca prominently at the top of the natural fiber marketplace.
Livestock or Pasture Poodles
First, and foremost, alpacas are livestock. That doesn’t preclude raising them as a family project or more like “pets”. Alpacas have the designation of livestock because they produce a product. The main product they produce is fiber or wool.
Alpacas for a Purpose
The opportunity for alpaca breeders today is to help bring alpaca back to prominence as THE premier natural fiber. Alpaca will far surpass cashmere in quality along due to lower cost of processing and environmental sustainability.
